1955 356 Pre-A Speedster
One of the most desirable collector models is the 356 Speedster. The sole US importer of Porsches advised Ferry Porsche that a lower cost, spartan, open-topped Porsche would do well in the USA. In 1954 Porsche began importing the Speedster to the United States. Although there is no radio, no side windows and a convertible top that is no more than a covering, this model is a sought after collector car by Porsche enthusiasts. This particular car was bought at auction in Monterey and previously owned by Nicholas Cage.
